I have read this week that the rear wheel drive advantage that the BMW cars supposedly hold over the rest of the field in the British Touring Car Championship is going to be removed for the 2010 BTCC season. This is something I am not particularly happy about as it seems unfair, but I suppose only time will tell.
One of the things I have missed since owning an iphone is the ability to check my current account balance and transactions using my mobile phone. Natwest provide a reasonable Java application for this purpose which worked well on my N95. Since I got my iPhone I have had to rely on telephoning the Actionline service to obtain up to date balances, but not any more!
NatWest this week have released a free mobile banking app (available in the App store) which lets you set SMS alerts, check your balance, check recent trasactions and apply upper and lower warning thresholds on balances. Fantastic!

The 2009 season will forever be remembered as one of the closest-fought in BTCC history – three drivers, Colin Turkington, Fabrizio Giovanardi and Jason Plato, all went into the very last race around Brands Hatch’s magnificent Grand Prix circuit still in with a chance of winning the title.
I will certainly be asking Santa for a copy this Christmas! That is if I dont crumble and purchase myself a copy first! Apparently there are a limited set of DVDs signed by the 2009 series champion Mr Colin Turkington himself !
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was released today worldwide on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Sales are expected to be higher than any game on the formats to date. Personally I don’t recall every playing a greater game than the original “Modern Warfare” so I am hoping for great things from this game. Apparently the game offers 3 distinct modes;
Single Player
Special Ops (Co-Op)
Multiplayer (with many sub game types)
Should look fantastic on my 1080p 42″ screen, with the 5.1 sound cranked up !
Sainsbury did a special price of £26 which is incredible value for a game that has an RRP of £49.99. There was a queue of around 200 people at 7:45 this morning when I went to buy my copy !
GeoHot last week released the RC3 version of his amazing Jailbreak “Blackra1n” which unlocks all iphones running 3.1.2 out of the box, in 15 seconds, with one mouse click! New to RC3 his is cellular unlock “BlackSn0w” which will unlock the very latest baseband for use with any SIM card. Amazing? Yes I think so too. I nervously upgraded my own phone to 3.1.2 using ITunes last week (killing my previous Ultrasn0w unlock) and then jailbroke and unlocked with GeoHot’s solution without issue, so I am very happy!
Since I took my old 2003 web server offline over a year ago I havent had a website or blog as such, so I decided to rectify that. A lot of blogs and information sites I read these days seem to be powered by blogger.com (I used to use WordPress) so here goess…
